BPI - Jollibee Promo 12 Aug. to 02 Nov. 2011

The last BPI credit card promo with Chowking had just ended last 07 August 2011, after a week's extension. Now BPI in celebration of their 160th year anniversary has their food promo with Jollibee, from 12 August to 02 November 2011, with redemption period until 01 January 2012.

To qualify, cardholder should use his/her BPI Express Credit card or BPI Express Teller ATM card via Express Payment System (E.P.S.) for a minimum single purchase transaction of Php 2,000, Php 6,000, or Php 12,000 at any merchant. Transaction should be approved through a Point-of-Sale card terminal, so online or internet purchases are disqualified.

BPI Credit Cards Pizza Hut Promo

Good news to all BPI credit card holders!

I received an SMS message from BPI last night advising their promo with Pizza Hut Restaurants and Bistros, valid from 18 May until 15 July 2010. As usual, BPI has not yet posted the promo details on their website, but a quick call to 89-100 confirmed the details below.

Redemption is until 15 September 2010, and valid for dine-in customers only. For every minimum charge to your BPI credit card, you can redeem the following items from regular Pizza Hut outlets:

So after the BPI credit cards' promo with Pizza Hut group had ended last 31 August 2012, they tied up now with Chowking for a new promo that runs from 12 September to 15 November 2012. Below is a repost of their email to me:

BPI - Jollibee Promo Dec. 2010 to Jan. 2011

After the not-so popular BPI-Goldilocks promo here that ended last month, BPI Credit Cards this time did not took a rest, with their BPI-Jollibee promo I received by SMS message the other day. Verifying with their 89-100 hotline, the promo period is from 01 December 2010 until 31 January 2011. Redemption period is until 31 March 2011. See the product entitlements below.

 

For every single charge BPI credit card receipt of:

P 2,000  -  1-pc of either Jollibee Chickenjoy or Chicken BBQ with rice

BPI-Goldilocks Promo Oct.1 - Nov.30

Good news to all BPI credit card holders. After more than 2 months without food promo for their credit card holders, they are bringing it back with Goldilocks products under DTI promo code 6392.

 

Promo period covers purchases between 01 October up to 30 November 2010. Redemption is until 15 February 2011, EXCEPT the busy Christmas period of 16-31 Dec 16-31, hence the 15 day extension of redemption period.

After more than 2 months of waiting, BPI reintroduces their promo with Pizza Hut group, namely -- Pizza Hut, Dairy Queen, and Taco Bell.

Promo period is from 18 April until 15 July 31 August 2012. Redemption period is until 13 September 30 October 2012, as they extended the promo. Below are the product entitlements after meeting the minimum purchase requirements.

BPI - Chowking Promo: May 21-Aug. 7, 2011

For those who like to know the BPI credit cards' promo this period, they have tied up with Chowking chinese fastfood chain. Now with more menu choices from breakfast, lunch, snack and dinner meal periods.

Managing Credit Cards

I have read an article about credit card frauds a few weeks ago, highlighting the one-sided condition that the credit card owner is liable for any fraudulent purchases on his/her card until the credit card theft/loss/scam was reported. For credit card owner, it would be easier to learn if the credit card was lost or stolen, but nearly impossible to know if it was duplicated (or “na-racha”) until he/she receives the billing statement.

On the predatory policy of local credit card issuers, the card owner is presumed to have used the credit card regardless of the amount, place and time used, unless proven otherwise which may take years to resolve. While investigation or resolution is ongoing and the credit card owner refuses to pay, the finance charges and late payment fees pile up, the card owner would neither be able to open a bank account nor get a new credit card due to bad credit standing.

Christmas Lights in Makati

The city of Makati is the premier business district of the Philippines. Boasting one of the highest revenue generating cities of the country, their local government can afford to flaunt their wealth by decorating their main business roads with Christmas lights each year.

Usually, their Christmas lights on the road islands have yellow color and without any form or shape. This year their Christmas lights have white color and are arranged vertically like big cylinders or funnels. Another difference is they have a special effect, like a dropping luminous white liquid, or a low shooting star from afar.

Royale House Hotel in Davao

During our 3D2N stay in Davao City, we stayed at Royale Pension House which is along C.M. Recto St. near the San Pedro Cathedral and Davao City Hall. It is also walking distance to the People's Park, though we didn't have time to see it. C.M. Recto is a one-way street, so our usual route in going back to the hotel is from San Pedro St. The jeep route no. 4 pass thru C.M. Recto after making rounds in Magsaysay Avenue and Quezon Boulevard. Many other jeepney routes and taxicabs pass the hotel, so transportation is never a problem.

Fastfoods like Chowking and Jollibee are just 5-minute walk through the Rizal Extension. There is also an NCCC Express Supermarket nearby. There is a night market along San Pedro St. if you fancy ukay ukay clothes, streetfoods, and pirated DVDs. The Bankerohan Market is a 5-minute ride on the jeepneys that pass the San Pedro St.

A big Thank You to all the readers of this blog, whether regular readers or who just stumbled on this once when "googling" a topic. After 138 posts eliciting 300+ comments, this 568-day old blog had just garnered 100,000 hits from over 45,000 visitors, who have read this blog from 128 countries around the world. As expected, Philippines top the number of visitors, followed by US, Singapore, Canada, and Hongkong. 

English is the major language used by this blog's visitors, followed by Filipino, and a far third is German. Majority of the readers use Firefox as browser, closely followed by Chrome users, then Internet Explorer (IE). There is a debatable study released in Yahoo News before that in general, those who use internet browser other than IE are more intelligent, so I'm sure the readers of this blog belong to the smarter group of the world's population, hehe.

E-Pass Tag: Blessing or a Curse?

Last February 2011, Wife bought an E-Pass tag for me, since she knows that I'm quite impatient in dealing with long lines on the toll gates. Despite my reluctance to use the e-pass tag due to horror stories I read from other users, I used it after it was activated by Skyway Corporation.

Its really more convenient to use the e-pass tag, as it was now a breeze to pass the SLEX toll gates. However, when I reviewed my e-pass tag statements for February and March this year, that is when the months of disappointments and helplessness began.

I live in Binan, Laguna using the Carmona/Binan Exit whenever we enter SLEX. Out of 11 supposedly Carmona entry points, I was surprised to see 7 cases of Calamba as my entry point, 5 on February and 2 on March statements. At Php 46 overcharge for every case, I asked the Skyway Corporation to credit back to me the total amount of Php 322 last 04 April 2011 through an email. 

I also told them to fix their e-pass sensor in Carmona, for me and for other motorists as well. The following day, Ms. Ronette Rojas of Skyway Corp. replied that they will credit back any adjustment to my account. I responded with my thanks and a follow up question if they have tested or fixed the e-pass tag sensor in Carmona Exit, but I have not gotten any reply.
