Hard Rock Cafe Makati

I was invited by my colleagues at Hard Rock Cafe in Makati last Thursday night. I used to go there many times about 13-14 years ago when I was still single, so its nice to be invited again by my counterpart at Hard Rock to experience their ambience, food, and music.

Hard Rock's ambience had not changed after about 15 years. There are still many memorabilia and posters of various artists. Original clothes worn by famous artists, electric guitars used by a Kiss guitarist, Echo & the Bunnymen, a graphic artist's proof of an Elton John album, and many other music-related items on displays along the walls.

Chairs and other fixtures are still mostly made from wood material, to give that homey and casual atmosphere. The stage is just right with the usual lighting effects. Remember, this is where Arnel Pineda was discovered via YouTube, before he became the vocalist of the revived Journey band. This time however, I think Hard Rock can barely afford Ariel Pineda's talent fee, now that he's more famous.

Food is still very good with generous portion size. Despite the fact that most of us had just taken our dinner prior, the nachos we ordered didn't last long for us group of 5. Same goes with the calamares, that's why I was not able to take photos right after they were served to us. Only a quarter of the large burger sandwich was left after about 30 minutes, only because we are so full, and I want to leave some room for my fave San Miguel Super Dry beer.

Service staff are friendly and attentive, as expected of the brand. Their guy at the washroom promptly gives the paper towel after washing our hands, then offers hot towel to freshen you up. The male band that night plays good music with their instruments, while Mocha and her all-female group can be forgiven for their so-so vocals, as they perform their various choreographed dances. Its a fun-filled night with quite a large crowd of guests that time.

Again, many thanks to my colleagues, especially to our host Ms. MC.

All photos and videos were taken from my camphone at mostly dim lighting, hence the low resolution.
